Bring your own AI key: AI writing help for social posts without a new data processor
· OragleGPT
Most social media tools now include AI writing help. Usually the prompts and drafts go to an AI provider through the tool vendor's own account, which adds another processor to your privacy review and hides the real usage cost in the subscription.
What bring-your-own-key changes
- Your agreement. Prompts go to the provider you chose, under the agreement and data settings you have with them.
- Your cost. You pay the provider directly at their price, with no markup and no monthly credit allowance.
- Your choice of model. Use the provider your organisation already approved.
What to check first
- Your provider account's data retention and training settings.
- Whether the key can be limited to a budget or a project.
- Who on the team is allowed to use the AI help, and that a person always reviews what it suggests.
In GPTpost
GPTpost's AI help in the composer runs on an OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini key that the workspace adds. Without a key the feature is simply off. Suggestions land in the draft, which still goes through your normal approval before anything is published.
